I grew up as a geek in Bristol on a diet of 80’s b-movie horror films, retro video games and grunge.

*But for those who do want to know a little bit more about me…
THE SLIGHTLY LONGER VERSION
My career as a photographer began a million miles away from wedding’s working in the surfing industry for publications and surf brands. I was the Photo Editor and in-house photographer for Wavelength Magazine, a position which enabled me to explore the globe to search for waves. Documenting every trip, both domestically and overseas, encompassed varying forms of photography which, apart from the obvious surfing photos, involved a mixture of travel, street and portrait work. My approach was always an alternative one. I never really conformed to the norm and, throughout my time working for magazines, I always experimented with different methods and angles.
When I look back at my first couple of wedding’s I shot for family and friend’s (just because I had a good camera) I figured there were rules and everything was formulaic and rigid. In my eyes anyone who’d solely photographed wedding’s were stereotypical and cheesy who would only do the posed stuff so essentially that’s kind of what I did. It then quickly became apparent that this wasn’t the case and I decided to apply the exact same style I photographed for the magazine to a wedding. I realised that treating a wedding as if it were the same wasn’t the right thing to do, after all, events happen differently. Each venue is different, peoples’ taste and visions vary and, most importantly everyone has an individual personality. Therefore I treat every wedding as it should be; completely unique and a series of moments that need to be documented.
That’s enough about me – how about you? I love meeting new people so click HERE to get in touch!
